WELCOME VISITORS! Thank you for giving us an opportunity to worship with you today. Our prayer is that together we might experience both God’s love and presence. CHILD CARE: The Nursery, for babies and children through four years of age, is located in the educational wing just past the elevator, in Room 113. Baby changing tables are available in the narthex restroom, lower level women’s restroom and in the nursery.
THE HERBIE CLINIC: is open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month. Anyone without health insurance and 16 or older qualifies. You must have a permanent address and please bring a photo I.D. If you would like to volunteer to help at the clinic, call Delisa at 269-313-0443. New Journey will gladly accept your monetary donations to support the HERBIE clinic and forward them to the organization.
SCRIP ORDER FORMS AND VENDOR LISTS FOR GIFT CARDS the Scrip program is temporarily on hold. We will post a notice in the bulletin and newsletter when the program resumes.
DIRECTORY UPDATE: The directory has been sent to the printer. We hope to have the directory printed and ready to distribute next week!
EVY’S CLOSET WOMEN’S CLOTHING MINISTRY: Is open by appointment only. Shoppers need to call the church at 269-683-7250 to make an appointment.
OFFERING NEWS: Your pocket change is really needed for UMCOR. But, plastic bags of large amounts of coins are very time consuming to count, so please contribute all you can, just not so much all at once. Your counters appreciate it!
UMCOR Will you give your pocket change to help feed the hungry? When you place loose coins in the Offering Plate, we send that money to the United Methodist Committee on Relief, to address the issues of poverty and hunger around the world. Even a few coins each week can make a difference in the lives of the poor. Please be generous! Please keep in mind our credit union no longer accepts foreign currency. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

MISSION FOR APRIL: Red Bird Clinic Community Health Center
Red Bird Clinic, Inc., (located in Kentucky) guided by Jesus Christ, empowers individuals and advocates justice by providing health programs for low-income, under-insured, and uninsured members of the surrounding communities. The areas served are officially designated as Medically Underserved Areas (MUAs) by the US Department of Health and Human Services, as a Health Care Provider Shortage Area and as a Dental Health Care Provider Shortage Area by the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA).

A BIG THANK YOU GOES OUT TO: Larry Mallory for all his work in getting the new sign post installed on the front lawn. The sign post features the sign for Center[ed] on Wellness and Evy’s Closet’s new permanent sign. Evy’s Closet would also like to thank the members of Ad Council who approved Mission Funds for purchasing new signage and Dick McCreedy for fixing the sign holder that is used for so many activities here at New Journey UMC. (Brenda Engel would like to add that the new Evy’s Closet sign design features Evelyn Bolton’s (her Mom) favorite colors green and yellow, in whose memory the Closet was established).
BACKPACK FOOD PROGRAM ONGOING MISSION: Normally we collect kid-friendly food for the back pack program for school children at Howard Ellis School. But the program is on hold due to the pandemic. We will notify you via the bulletin and newsletter when this program will resume.
Mission Focus: Babyfold
An outreach of UMCOR, Babyfold at Old Mutare Children’s Home in Zimbabwe cares for abandoned children by providing love, clothing, food and education. Activities include: looking after the children by feeding them baby formula when they are still babies; making sure that they are healthy and paying hospital bills if any of the children becomes ill; paying school fees and buying uniforms and school supplies; supervising home works and maintaining discipline so that they grow up as good citizen; making sure that the mothers/House parents’ salaries are paid on time so that they will take good care of children without grumbling.
From May 2 – May 30, our mission giving will support the Babyfold at Old Mutare Children’s Home as a way of honoring the women who have nourished us with love throughout our lives.
